| New Lens: Nikon 16-35mm F4 VR |
| For the people who follow my automotive shots rather closely, I always like to focus on at least one good motion shot of the cars. To me, there is nothing like a properly executed rig shot. Since then I paired my D700 with the "beast" that they call the Nikon 14-24 F2.8 lens. The edge to edge sharpness of this lens is almost uncomparable for any ultra-wide zooms on the market, and since released, it has been a cornerstone for most landscape photographers. Aside from the praise that the 14-24 gets, the practicality and flexibility factor comes into play. The 14-24 was limited because it was unable to take filters due to its shape, and it was very heavy and causes some unwanted vibrations on the rig. Then comes the new 16-35 VR, not only is it just as sharp as the 14, its much lighter and is the first ultra wide with any sort of image stabilizer. This was the perfect lens to get whether I shoot on the rig or not, the range is far greater than the old 14-24 and being able to use filters is much more practical in the long run. Stay tuned for new shots--- |
